Born in 1938, Maxine Waters became a United States Congress woman representing the 43rd District of California in 1991. At the time of this publishing, 2020, she still maintains this political position.
Born in 1931, novelist Toni Morrison first book The Bluest Eyes was published in 1970. In August of 2019, Ms. Morrison passed on to see the ancestors; she is accredited with writing eleven novels.
