"Life Without the Possibility of Parole Paintoem is about the State’s throw away mentality towards women who received a prison sentence of life without the possibility of parole. The work, painting and poem was inspired by the work of Kim Pollak, editor-in-chief of the California Prison Focus. The papers exposé on women serving such a sentence at one California Prison stirred the artist.
